Hello there!
Moonsteam Studio is a little digital paperie that I’ve been running online in one form or another since about 2010 or so. It started on Etsy back then, and eventually moved out on its own. It had a very unique start, hahaha: many years ago I designed some fun labels for a little project where I was making lip balms (random, I know) & I opened an Etsy shop called Moonsteam Alchemy in order to sell them. I soon needed designs for more labels & discovered the world of digital scrapbooking…and loved it! Alas, most of the designs I found were not usable for my items, so I had to make my own. I then decided that if I was going to make all those digital designs, I might as well try selling some, and Moonsteam Design Studio was born, selling digital papers, digital ephemera, and things like that.
In the course of all the designing & selling, I realized I needed various ways to keep all my ideas organized, and so I fell into the world of digital planning, and like with digital scrapbooking, I loved digital planning! And as with digital designs, since I ended up having to design the kind of digital planners, notebooks, and journals that I needed for myself, I realized that I might as well try selling some.
And here we are!
The shop name has had a few incarnations but is now simply Moonsteam Studio.
What is "Moonsteam?"
“Moonsteam” was just a fun word that came to me many years ago when I was thinking up names for my first shop. It means being inspired late at night by the “steam” of one’s own ideas & efforts.
About me
I’m Sara, a long-time web & graphic designer who also had a stint in academia; I have an MA in English Literature and taught college writing & lit for many years (before & after that I worked in publishing & design). I’ve been a “solopreneur” for ages now doing web & graphic design & couldn’t be happier. I’m an utter technophile who has been making websites since 1997 & loves staying up too late playing video games on my PC, but I’m also a total nester & homebody who loves binge watching Downton Abbey, rewatching Pride & Prejudice (the Colin Firth version, of course!), and curling up with a good book or five. I’ve been blogging since “web logs” first came on the scene (anyone remember Moveable Type?). I love being on my computers & being inspired by creators every day...and I hope that you enjoy my creations here in the shop!
